Carenda Angus was started by John Kitchen in 1994 who worked hard to build it to where it is today. Today, Carenda is operated by Matt Kitchen, his wife Daniegh and mother, Flo.

Matt provides quality Angus bulls to suit most situations and you can now purchase these quality CARENDA ANGUS right here in Katanning. With a good average rainfall and a strong growing seasons, the region is well suited for breeding Angus cattle that tick all the boxes for quality meat production.

Carenda is a member of the Livestock Production Assurance program (LPAQA), which is the Australian Livestock Industry’s on farm food safety program, and of the Angus Society of Australia.

Angus is the most widespread and keenly sought after temperate beef breed in the world. This popularity is due to the greater profitability achieved by using Angus compared to other breeds. Angus and Angus cross cattle receive price premiums due to consistent performance in a range of markets.

Angus beef is widely used for the domestic retail and quality food service markets and is preferred by many export markets. The breed is known throughout the world for its ability to consistently produce the finest high quality beef.

Straightbred and crossbred Angus steers are keenly sought after for pasture and feedlot finishing programs to target high quality beef markets. The superior meat quality of Angus cattle comes from their ability to lay down intra-muscular marbling (taste) fat during the finishing phase, together with excellent tenderness, texture, flavour, meat colour and fat colour.
